Click on the link above (www.kopieckosciuszki.pl) to access that website which is available in both English and Polish. On September 16, 2008 in Cracow, Anthony J. Bajdek, President and Founder of the American Association of the Friends of Kosciuszko at West Point and retired Associate Dean of Northeastern University in Boston, in concert with Mieczyslaw Rokosz, President of the Kosciuszko Mound Committee and Professor of History at the Jagiellonian University, unveiled a 40 x 20 inch bronze plaque that the Association donated to the venerable Kosciuszko Mound Committee (Komitet Kopca Kosciuszki) which had been established in 1823 to maintain perpetual oversight and management of the Kosciuszko Mound, one of Poland's greatest historical monuments. The wording of the plaque is both in Polish and in English, with the English version of its salient aspects being as follows: "WHILE YOUR RIVER FLOWS AND YOUR COUNTRY EXISTS, NO ONE WILL BE AT A LOSS TO UNDERSTAND THE MONUMENT, ITS PURPOSE, AND ITS LOCATION Written by John H. B. Latrobe (1803-1891), designer of the Kosciuszko Monument, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, USA. In commemoration of establishing a transatlantic bridge of kindred spirit and purpose which connects the Kosciuszko Mound Committee and the American Association of the Friends of Kosciuszko at West Point, and in witness thereof, this plaque is dedicated".
